Registration information for Occupational Therapy Students

The Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management registers OTD students for their required OTD coursework each term with the exception of OTD 253 Special Topics coursework in the O2 year and any remaining undergraduate Health Sciences requirements and/or AOIs for students who have not yet completed a bachelor's degree. OTD students follow the University registration day and times published on the Office of the Registrar and CPHS Registration Bulletin webpages. Once required coursework registration has been completed, students are notified via Drake email that schedules are avialble in MyDUSIS, accessible through 


Registration for Health Sciences and/or AOIs

Students who have not yet completed their bachelors degree prior to beginning the OTD program and have undergraduate Health Sciences requirements and/or AOIs remaining will complete registration for this coursework online through the University’s MyDUSIS system. Students can access MyDUSIS through MyDrake. The Drake University Office of the Registrar provides comprehensive information regarding the registration process including adding and dropping courses, resolving error messages, wait list automation, and registration dates and times on the Registration webpage. In addition, the Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management distributes details registration information to CPHS students through the CPHS Student Announcements and the CPHS Registration Bulletin.

OTD 253 Special Topics

OTD 253: Special Topics is a required occupational therapy course that must be taken in the fall or spring semester of the second professional (O2) year. O2 students can enroll in either a fall or spring section. 

To search for OTD 253 section:

  • Access MyDUSIS from the MyDrake Student Home page under Commonly Used Applications
  • Select the Student Services tab within MyDUSIS
  • Click on the Registration link
  • Under the Look Up Classes to Add option, select the appropriate term, Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 (*Spring 2022 will not be available until October 2021)
  • Select the Occupational Thereapy Doctorate subject from the list of subject areas and enter "253" in the "Course Number" field
  • Select "Course Search"
  • Results should provide a list of all OTD 253 sections offered in the specific term
  • Review course capacity, class meeting days and times, etc. to be sure seats remain open in the preferred section
  • Select the checkbox next to the preferred section and click "Register" at the bottom of the page
  • Students will see a registration confirmation page when registration activity is successful and complete
