Health Sciences Program

Three distinct concentrations lead to a diverse array of field experiences. As of 2025, Health Sciences majors have access to 12 active sites with 111 preceptors.

Health Sciences majors in the health care administration track dive into hands-on patient management tasks in facilities across Des Moines and the country.

Health Sciences students in the clinical and medical sciences track make vital contributions to health-related research, including drug development.

Local non-profits gain fresh ideas and strategic input from Health Sciences majors in the public health track.

ABSN Program

ABSN students complete extensive field-based education, benefitting from supervised guidance in diverse healthcare environments throughout our region. As of 2025, the program maintains 12 active placement sites with 26 preceptors.

Nursing students gain experience across clinical domains at Broadlawns Medical Center, the primary training site for the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences’ ABSN program.

ChildServe provides a clinical setting for ABSN students to develop expertise in caring for children with special healthcare needs.
