Violence Prevention

Drake University is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in which all members of our community can thrive and reach their full potential. At Drake we believe that nobody deserves abuse. We work to create a campus culture that promotes social justice, equality and inclusion and rejects rape culture, violence, and abuse. Through intentional programing and campaigns, we aim to prevent violence before it occurs. When people are hurt, we believe that it is the responsibility of the Drake community to rebuild trust and offer support. Our violence prevention and programing work—including Violence Intervention Partners, Mentors in Violence Prevention, Healthy Relationship Ambassadors, and Define the Line, Respect the Line—allow us to put these values into action.
