OTD Career Development

Career opportunities for occupational therapists are rapidly growing across the country; the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment in occupational therapy to grow by 24 percent from 2016 to 2026. This career is also listed as No. 10 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Health Care Jobs.

Des Moines is also home to numerous clinics, hospitals, special care facilities, and private practices, so you can move beyond the textbook with hands-on experience in the many specialties within the occupational therapy profession. The University’s extensive local and national practitioner and alumni networks offer opportunities for job shadowing, mentoring, and professional experiences, and a dedicated career development staff will work with you to achieve your professional goals.
