Dr. Maria Valdovinos

Dr. Valdovinos earned a B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University, M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Alabama, M.A. in Human Development and Ph.D. in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas. She completed post-doctoral training at Vanderbilt University’s Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development in Peabody College. Dr. Valdovinos is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Doctoral level, and a fellow of the American Psychological Association (Division 33, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) and the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

She teaches courses in development (child and adolescent, adult, and across the lifespan), developmental disabilities, applied behavior analysis, and applied and professional ethics.

Her current research interests include examining the experiences of people with neurodevelopmental disorders during medical care. Click here to view her published research.
