Every semester Drake Wellness offers a variety of programs for students, faculty and staff to enjoy. All programs are free for all Drake students, faculty and staff unless otherwise noted. For more information about these programs, please email email@example.com.
Group Exercise Classes
Group X Classes are offered throughout the year with a new schedule each semester. Anywhere from 20-25 different classes are offered by trained students and staff to accommodate all fitness levels. They range from Zumba and Dance Fitness, to Water Aerobics, to Strength Training and HIIT-styled classes, to Core, Pilates, and Yoga, as well as anything in between! All classes are held in the Drake Bell Center and all equipment is provided. Register for and attend 15 classes per semester and earn free gear!
Custom Wellness Programs
Custom wellness programs come in a variety of formats to generate plenty of excitement for you and your organization or group of friends. Great for Residence Halls, Greek Organizations,
Department Activities or Special Events! Examples of programs range from intuitive snacking seminars, to cooking demonstrations, to stress management techniques, as well as any GroupX class or fitness workshop. Bulldog Swim Challenge
Join the Bulldog Swim Challenge! Record your annual swim mileage on the tracking sheets provided. Reach a milestone and receive a prize and bragging rights. NETA Fit Fest - October 25-28
Get certified, connected and inspired with the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) Fit Fest. This exhilarating event continues to earn rave reviews for bringing fitness progessionals together in the perfect environment to learn, collaborate and even play. Register online at www.netafit.org
Bulldog Bootcamp - Spring 2018
Become a better version of yourself with this six-week program aimed at developing a wholesome, healthy lifestyle. Challenge your mind and body with varied, functional workouts, develop a nutritional plan with the help of a liscensed dietician, and become a part of an online support group. In Bulldog Bootcamp you will be challenged to reach your highest potential. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:15pm. Glow Hip Hop - April 4
This glow-in-the-dark Hip Hop class is like any other Hip Hop class; but will now have black lights and glow sticks to make the party even better! The first 50 students to register using the IM Leagues app will receive a tank top. Class will be held on Thursday, April 4th from 8:00-8:45pm in the Bell Center Gym.
Dead Day Yoga – Last Friday of each semester
We’re teaming up with Drake Student Activities Board to help you relax before final exams. Join us in Helmick Commons and participate in yoga or sign up for a free chair massages through Drake SAB. Class 1 runs from 11:00-11:45am and Class 2 runs from 12:15-12:45pm. There will be giveaways at this event!
