For students interested in BFA admission and scholarship auditions/portfolio reviews, you have several options:
All students must apply and be accepted to Drake University before admission will be considered into any of the BFA programs. Submit your application at drake.edu/apply
On-campus (Please pre-register by the Monday prior to your preferred audition event)
Accompanist will be provided. A typical schedule is below:
*If auditioning in November, plan to stay Friday night to see our production of Silent Sky.
Deadline for registration is November 14, 2022 OR January 30, 2023 . For registration information, audition/portfolio criteria or other information, please visit http://www.drake.edu/theatre/auditions/.
Off-campus (pre-registrations will close Feb. 3rd. After that date, you will need to sign up on site/walk in)

*Some Musical Theatre students may be invited for a group dance call-back later in the day.
Online submissions are an option for everyone this year, due to the continuation of the covid pandemic. Audition videos and/or portfolio materials must be submitted by Feb. 10, 2023 through GetAccepted.

The department also offers a B.A. Degree in Theatre for those students who want to pursue a second major in a different subject area. B.A. degree seeking students are NOT required to audition for the program.
