“My favorite internship was working as the special events coordinator for the Principal Charity Classic, a PGA Champions Tour golf tournament. My internship was very hands-on — I gained more experience in those several months than I could have anticipated. One of the internship’s highlights was the responsibility I was given and the trust my supervisors had in me. This experience helped create a solid foundation for the career I have today.”
Digital Media Production

“I have a weekly show on Drake’s radio station, 94.1 The Dog, that airs every Thursday at 6 p.m. I started doing it for a class last semester and then decided to continue because it’s given me a lot of experience. Not only am I the personality on the show; I’m also the DJ and producer. It’s really given me the opportunity to see behind the scenes of a radio station without necessarily having it seem like work.”
Chemistry; Biology; Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology (BCMB)

M.D./Ph.D Candidate, Northwestern University; Evanston, Ill.
“I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, and Drake prepared me for medical school in ways I didn’t expect. I started conducting research as a first year, and fell in love. After that, I knew I had to incorporate research into my career, and have spent countless hours in labs ever since. Thanks to the incredible opportunities and guidance I’ve had at Drake, I was one of about 10 applicants selected to be part of the Medical Scientist Training Program at Northwestern.”

“I worked as an intern with CBS and helped them set up for the nationally televised debate of Democratic presidential candidates. I’ve met a lot of executive producers and heard their stories about how they got started in their organizations. Those conversations breathed further life into my hopes of becoming a journalist.”
