Class of 2015
Ph.D. Candidate, University of Florida; Gainesville, Fla.
“I began working on a research project funded by the National Institutes of Health with Prof. Maria Valdovinos, and continued my work for almost three years. The grant allowed me to travel to several professional conferences with my peers and present our findings to major players in the field of Behavior Analysis. I discovered a true mentor in Dr. V. These research, education, and networking experiences culminated in my acceptance to the University of Florida.”
Class of 2011
Senior Manager, Clinical Pharmacy Programs, RxAnte, LLC; Washington, D.C.
"Drake's pharmacy school is a phenomenal school that produces a very professional and very prepared pharmacist. I attribute a lot of my success to the faculty. They are excellent role models and mentors that I continue to rely on for help in my career--they truly care about me and I care about them. Building those relationships was essential for me to grow in my career."
Class of 2016
“One of my professors, Jeff Kappen, is the reason I looked into going abroad. He showed me that I would be able to go and still graduate in four years, while also explaining how his experiences abroad gave him a different view of the world. He told me I should think bigger, and that is when I started looking at the Middle East. Dubai was the only choice for me, as it had more opportunity for employment. Professor Kappen actually came and visited me during my stay.”
Class of 2018
“As an international student, there’s a lot to get used to living in a different culture. I could not have made the transition as easily without the help of my professor, Nicholas Roth, who helped me figure out what I needed to do when I first got here. During the summer of 2015, I went on tour with Professor Roth in my home country of Ecuador. I’m impressed by the sense of community at Drake, and I’ve had amazing opportunities to grow as a musician.”
It’s one of the hallmarks of a Drake education: Intimate and personal, characterized by strong relationships between professors and students. You’ll connect with an experienced, full-time faculty member in your field who knows you well, has your best interests at heart, and guides you toward your goals. He or she will also collaborate with you on projects and actively seek out great experiences to help you stand out in your field—and still graduate on time.
The result is a guide for your college experience and valuable connections to opportunities before and after graduation.
