Kelley A. Ellis, CPA, CGMA, CIA, EMBA

Associate Dean, Student Affairs, and Associate Professor of Practice in Accounting

Kelley Ellis is currently the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and an Associate Professor of Practice in the School of Accounting at the Drake University Zimpleman College of Business. Kelley has broad, hands-on accounting knowledge that includes financial reporting, accounting operations, internal/external audit, and financial recruiting at a variety of corporate positions over the past 20+ years. The majority of her career was spent at KPMG within the Assurance practice in the Des Moines and London offices for the financial services sector. She also worked in financial recruiting for Robert Half Finance and Accounting for 5+ years. She has been actively involved in hiring processes throughout her career. Kelley is also a former CFO. She proudly served as the CFO for the Greater Des Moines Partnership. In addition to her professional career, Kelley has also served as an instructor with the Becker CPA Review. She is actively engaged with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Iowa Society of CPA's, Institute of Internal Auditors, and Information Systems Audit and Control Association. Kelley is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Kelley double majored in finance and accounting at Creighton University and completed the executive MBA at the University of Iowa.
