During Black History Month, we lift up the creativity, contributions, and collective—and determined—vision for justice that African American communities offer to this nation and the world. Here at Drake, the expertise, excellence, and experiences of Black students, staff, and faculty are vital to who we are as a campus community.
The Coalition of Black Students works hard to create spaces for community-building and programming all year long, but during February, this group of campus leaders does even more to acknowledge and celebrate Black history and excellence. I encourage you to participate in the many events and learning opportunities happening on campus and in the community this month. There is so much to learn, celebrate, and share as we continue building a culture rooted in inclusion, equity, and belonging for all.
