Dr. Pendleton is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Drake University. He received both his Ph.D and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University. Prior to Drake University, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Iowa State University through the Alliance for Building Faculty Diversity.

His research uses numerical and analytical techniques in differential equations. His current research focuses on developing robust, highly accurate, efficient numerical schemes for strongly nonlinear time dependent hyperbolic partial differential equations emanating from shallow water wave theory.
