Transfer New Student Checklist
April
- Tuition deposit—if you haven't already
In order to register for summer orientation, you must first pay your $250 non-refundable enrollment deposit. Visit drake.edu/admitted to make this payment.
- Sign up for an Orientation Session
Sign up for your orientation session of choice at drake.edu/admitted. Date preferences are process on a first-come, first-serve basis.
May
- Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) so you can access key campus systems including myDrake.
Review the MFA guides for additional instructions.
June
- Send final transcripts to the Office of Admission once grades are recorded.
Transcripts must be sent directly from your previous school. They can be emailed to admission@drake.edu or mailed to:

- Send AP, IB, or CLEP credits to Drake's Office of the Registrar.
- Review transfer credit information.
- Submit your Medical History Form.

- Start checking your Drake email
- Log in to myDrake
- Select the waffle icon at the top left side of your window, and then select Outlook from the list of applications.
- Review the recommended minimum requirements for computers by ITS.
- Update your emergency contact information
- Log in to myDrake
- Select My Information in the My Drake Profile section
- Submit your Medical History Form
- Resources for New Students from ITS
Find information like how to connect to the campus wireless network, computer recommendations and discounts, campus printing details, and how to get your gaming system connected (including requesting a wired connection in your residence hall, if needed).
- Beginning July 1, complete the Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates and Alcohol EDU trainings located on MyDrake under Learning Resources > Mandatory Student Training.
- Prepare to get your Mobile Drake ID
Drake University offers a Mobile Drake ID. To create your ID, please plan to take a photo at your orientation session, OR get a head start by submitting a photo online. Once your photo has been approved, you'll be able to add a Mobile Drake ID to your phone and/or smartwatch. Instructions on how to load your Mobile Drake ID to your devices are also posted in the Knowledge Base.

Course Ready
Course Ready eliminates the shopping process, saving students time and money while lowering stress. Course Ready automatically provides textbooks and required course materials for undergraduate students. The program cost is added to your student account with an option to opt-out.

- Academic Accommodations
For students who need academic accommodations, please complete the intake form to start the process for requesting accommodations through Student Disability Services.
- Complete Required Documentation for Work Study
If you plan to work on campus during your Drake experience, we encourage you to complete the required paperwork at Summer Orientation. Review the I-9 form for a list of required documents to bring the necessary documents with you when you visit campus. Contact student.employment@drake.edu with questions related to required documentation.
