Meet a Few Transfer Students

Meet Kristin, a data analytics major, and U.S. Air Force veteran.

Kristin Porter, class of 2019, is a 36-year-old data analytics major with associate’s degrees from two community colleges and a BA from Ashford University. Kristin chose Drake not only for its highly touted data analytics program, but also for the many financial benefits available to her as a veteran of the U.S. armed forces through the Yellow Ribbon program. She’s found Drake to be a welcoming, open-minded community, with classmates who are friendly and supportive.

Meet Nick, a transfer student from DMACC studying public relations, musical theatre, and advertising.

Nick Black, class of 2019, is a 21-year-old public relations, musical theatre, and advertising major.

Nick chose Drake because of the high career placement rate for graduates and the professors who were eager to support him as a student and help him grow as a person. A generous financial aid package made Drake more affordable than he imagined, making it possible for him to attend and pursue his degrees for about the same cost as his attendance at DMACC.
