Drake Law School will present a public clinic for financial and medical powers of attorney as part of the Cady Day of Service. The clinic will begin with a brief overview of the importance of having a financial power of attorney and medical power of attorney. At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will meet one-on-one with a licensed attorney and/or Drake Law student to execute a simple version of power of attorney or living will documents.

The clinic will be held at Drake Law School, Cartwright Hall, Room 201. Sessions will be offered throughout the day.

Expungement and Employment Barriers Clinic - Sponsored by Iowa Legal Aid

**Volunteer attorneys needed in Iowa City and Davenport!** 

Iowa Legal Aid (ILA) is hosting an expungement and employment barriers clinic in Davenport and Iowa City in honor of Cady Day of Service.

The Iowa City clinic will be held on Monday, October 16 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Inside Out Reentry Community.

The Davenport clinic will be held on Thursday, October 19 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at the Lincoln Community Center.
      
Volunteer attorneys will be paired with Iowa Legal Aid clients that need advice and assistance on initiating the record expungement process. In addition to expungement, volunteer attorneys will be trained to advise on issues related to driver’s license reinstatement, background checks, and court debt management. The training will be held via Zoom on Friday Oct. 13 at noon.
      
During the clinic, meetings with clients typically last anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. Following the clinic, ILA will handle all follow up, case management, and representation.
