Mark S. Cady Day of Public Service

The 2023 Mark S. Cady Day of Public Service will be held on Friday, October 20.

The Cady Day of Public Service is dedicated to late Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Cady. The event brings the community together to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Justice Cady and his commitment to public service, access to justice, and civil rights. Attorneys and others throughout the state are invited to join us in service to the public or pro bono work on Oct. 20. (Note: We talk about "Cady Day" but projects held in honor of Cady Day of Service on other dates are recognized and celebrated as well!)

Hundreds of volunteers from Davenport to Council Bluffs and beyond the borders of Iowa have helped make Cady Day of Service a huge success. Projects and events held as part of Cady Day have impacted well over 10,000 individuals through community service, legal clinics and educational programming. In fact, the Cady Day of Public Service was selected to receive a 2021 Iowa/Minnesota Campus Compact Engaged Campus Award for Community Collaboration.

2023 Cady Day of Service project registration is now open. Register your event or project here.

Thanks to Drake Law alum/Dorsey & Whitney attorney Kirk Schuler, we are offering a Cady Day of Service t-shirt. You can order your shirt on line here or visit RayGun, 505 E Grand Avenue, Des Moines.
