Alumni Awards

  • Alumni Achievement Awards: awarded to alumni, one of which is a young alumnus in the first 10 years of their career; presented at Health Professions Day (formerly Pharmacy and Health Sciences Day) each spring

  • Weaver Medal of Honor: the highest honor awarded by the College, made possible through a generous gift by Lawrence C., PH'49, and Delores M. Weaver; presented at the annual Weaver Lecture each spring

Faculty Awards

Each of the following awards are presented to faculty at Health Professions Day (formerly Pharmacy and Health Sciences Day) each spring.

  • C. Boyd Granberg Professional Leadership Award: an alumni-funded award in honor of C. Boyd Granberg, former CPHS faculty member and Dean from 1977-1984; recognizes the contributions of a faculty member who demonstrates sustained and significant leadership in professional organizations, and inspires students toward professional involvement

  • Richard Morrow Leadership Award: an alumni-funded award in honor of Richard Morrow, GR'83, who served as a faculty member from 1972-2010; recognizes a faculty member who focuses on team-building, motivation, and collaboration with colleagues to accomplish change for the better

  • Hartig Awards: Richard, PH'73, and Brenda Hartig established the Hartig Pharmacy Fund for CPHS in 2002

    • Hartig Distinguished Professor Award: recognizes a faculty member who has distinguished him/herself in teaching, scholarship, service, or practice

    • Hartig Faculty Entrepreneurial Leadership Award: established to fund the pursuit of faculty development activities that shall educate, encourage and enhance entrepreneurism in community pharmacy practice or ownership

  • C. Boyd Granberg Student Excellence Award: an alumni-funded award in honor of C. Boyd Granberg, former CPHS faculty member and Dean from 1977-1984; recognizes a student who has displayed excellence, has financial need, with a preference for a student who has been involved professionally and has taken on leadership roles

  • Jerry M. Karbeling Leadership Award: an alumni-funded award in honor of Jerry Karbeling, PH'74, recognizes a student who demonstrates Karbeling's values and actions including professional involvement, commitment to practice, and political advocacy; presented at the Recognition and Pinning Ceremony each spring

  • Lon N. Larson Engaged Practitioner Award: an alumni-funded award in honor of Lon Larson, PH'72, Ellis and Nelle Levitt professor of pharmacy administration; recognizes a student who demonstrates the values and actions of Dr. Larson, including demonstrating high ethical standards, reflective practice, innovation, and community service; presented at the Recognition and Pinning Ceremony each spring
Occupational Therapy Awards:
  • Scholastic Achievement Award: recognizes a second-year occupational therapy student who has excelled in their course work and their academic performance is in the top 25% of their class

  • Leadership and Professional Development Award: recognizes a second-year occupational therapy student who has demonstrated a drive to advance the profession of occupational therapy
Athletic Training Award:
  • Emerging Clinician Award: recognizes a first-year athletic training student who has already demonstrated the qualities necessary to thrive in the practice of athletic training. The recipient will possess the passion, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills necessary to face adversity and to connect with clinicians and patients to provide quality care
