Biography

Adrien Halliez received his Ph.D from Georgia State University in 2023. He has taught multiple classes in American Politics including Introduction to American Politics, Political Participation, Media and Mass Politics, Ideology and Partisanship… during his time at Georgia State University (2018-2023) and Wake Forest University (2023-2024).

His main research interests revolve around American public opinion. These include assessing the perceptions of polarization in the American public, the viability of depolarization interventions, and the influence of visible partisan signs on mass polarization (MAGA Hat, yard signs, flags…). He has published articles in Party Politics and American Politics Research. He is also interested in other research topics such as media and agency communication about immigration, public opinion about drug policies, and populist leaders’ rhetorical styles.

Prior to his graduate program in political science, Dr. Halliez has taught foreign languages in the U.S., Mexico, and France. As a non-native fluent in three languages (English, Spanish, French), Dr. Halliez provides an unusual non-native perspective on American politics.
