Dr. Lisa West is Professor of English. She earned her B.A. from Williams College (English major, concentration in Environmental Studies) and her Ph.D. from Stanford University (British and American Literature, 1750-1850). She teaches courses in Early American Literature and Environmental Humanities, ranging from The Salem Witch Trials to Emily Dickinson and Transatlantic Landscapes. Her research focuses on theories of fiction early American women writers, and encounters with the natural world.
