The LGBTQ+ Alumni Association was established in 2016 to give the Drake LGBTQ+ community and their allies a safe space within the Drake community. The Association connects and engages LGBTQ+ alums and their allies through social and educational events. It supports current and prospective students, faculty, and staff at Drake by advocating for and practicing inclusivity and empowerment.

In 2024, the Board of the LGBTQ+ Alumni Association established the Pride Alumni Fund. This fund is designed to support student's personal and professional development and contribute to a culture of LGBTQ+ education.
