Admitted Student Checklist
All students must ensure a final transcript from their degree-granting institution noting the completion date of their baccalaureate degree is on file with LSAC. Final transcripts must be sent through the LSAC by Oct. 15.
Every student is required to submit a health history and immunization form two weeks after the start of classes, or a hold will be placed on your registration status.
To download a form, visit the Drake Student Health Center website. Completed forms must be returned to the Drake Student Health Center.
Tuition payment and student loan reimbursement checks (for students with a credit balance on their account) will be handled in the Office of Student Accounts in Old Main.
Students will need to make arrangements to purchase books by cash, check, Visa, Discover, or MasterCard in advance of the loan disbursement.
To ensure that loan funds are available, complete the Federal Loan Request Forms (located online as well as in your financial aid package) and return them to the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible. Note: This step cannot be completed until the financial aid package has been received. You must file a FAFSA in order to receive a financial aid package.
Students must also complete the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note for requested loans as directed on the Loan Request Forms.
Students can learn more about loan repayment and take advantage of financial education programming by exploring the AccessLex website. They are able to do 1:1 loan counseling, they have repayment calculators, as well as other free services.
Students that need to have their previous student loans deferred will need to work directly with the Registrar's Office to ensure the necessary information is shared with the Clearinghouse. They will then send that information to the National Student Loan Data System. You can reach out to the Registrar's Office at registrar@drake.edu.
For more information, contact the Financial Aid Office at 515-271-2905 or visit the office's website.
