Debra DeLaet

Debra DeLaet received her B.A. in Political Science from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. She teaches courses on human rights, global health, gender and world politics, and the United Nations.
 
She has published three books: U.S. Immigration Policy in an Age of Rights (Praeger 2000), The Global Struggle for Human Rights (Wadsworth, 2006; rev. 2nd ed. 2013), and (co-authored with David E. DeLaet) Global Health in the 21st Century: the Globalization of Disease and Wellness (Paradigm Publishers, 2012). In addition to these books, she has published numerous articles and book chapters in the areas of human rights, global health, and gender issues in world politics.
 
Professor DeLaet has been recognized as the 2007 Honors Program Teacher of the Year, the 2011 Arts & Sciences Teacher of the Year, and the 2012 Stalnaker Lecturer. She holds the David E. Maxwell Distinguished Professorship in International Affairs.
