Inbal Mazar

Dr. Inbal Mazar holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Studies with specializations in Gender Studies and Sociology and an M.A. in Spanish from Florida Atlantic University.  Her research and teaching center on health and culture from a transnational perspective as well as the scholarship of teaching and learning. She has conducted comparative fieldwork in San Miguel Acatán, Guatemala, and Palm Beach County, Florida to better understand how migration influences Guatemalan Maya maternal care in both regions. Other research areas include the portrayal of women in Latin American popular narratives as well as the impact that integrating service-learning in Spanish courses has on enhancing language development. In her teaching, Mazar strives to promote culture and language beyond the classroom via collaborations between students and local and international communities.
