Dr. Herath is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at Drake University's Zimpleman College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a specialization in Statistics from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (SIUC). Before joining Drake, he served as a graduate teaching and research assistant at SIUC, where he gained valuable experience in both statistical instruction and academic research.
Dr. Herath's research involves the development of advanced statistical methodologies with applications in time series analysis, econometrics, and multivariate statistics. His work has been published by leading journals, including theJournal of Business & Economic Statistics (JBES),Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics (JCGS), and theJournal of Multivariate Analysis (JMVA).
In the classroom, Dr. Herath is committed to excellence in teaching and mentorship. He teaches courses in statistical methods, regression analysis, and statistical programming, and actively supports students' academic and professional development.
