Nomination Procedures for Medal Recipients and Honorary Degrees
Drake University awards honorary degrees to recognize individuals whose outstanding achievements exemplify excellence and reflect the university’s values. Faculty, staff, and trustees are invited to submit nominations for individuals whose intellectual, creative, or humanitarian accomplishments merit this distinction.
Nominations are confidential and should not be shared with the nominee. A complete nomination includes a letter of nomination, two to three letters of additional support, a résumé or curriculum vitae, and any relevant supplemental materials. Nominations are reviewed through a shared governance process, with final approval by the Drake University Board of Trustees.
Nominations must be submitted electronically to the Honorary Degree and Drake Medal Committee by the stated deadline.
