South Central STEM Hub

STEM for All

Welcome to the South Central Iowa STEM Region! Our goal is to help expand STEM to the communities we serve. As indicated by boundaries set by the Iowa Governor’s Advisory Council, the region is a collaborative effort, with a Hub located at Drake University.

What We Do

We serve preK-12 in/out of school educators who need STEM resources, including public, provide and home school. The South Central Hub is one of six across the state. Here's a list of how the SC STEM Hub/Iowa STEM might be helpful to your students and teachers:

Provide Scale-Up (STEM curriculum, materials, training)
Create community partnerships through BEST funds
Place teachers with host businesses for paid externships in STEM
Host community STEM festivals and events
Checkout STEM materials via the SC Hub's library
Connect specific resources educators need via request
Share STEM-related information via our newsletter and social media

Most of the checkout materials are past Scale-Ups. We hope this library offers an opportunity for educators to see if this type of programming would benefit their students. If it does, please apply in January to receive a Scale-Up of your own.
