Environmental Justice

Environmental Justice is a movement that seeks to ensure that all people are treated equitably in regard to the environment regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, national origin, or socioeconomic standing.

Environmental Justice is important to understand and incorporate into Drake University's sustainability goals, as some communities have faced disproportionate environmental burdens that have long-lasting impacts on health, education, access and more. Below are a variety of resources to help explain why Environmental Justice is necessary, how to get involved in enacting change, and how the movement began.
