International Business

The International Business program includes undergraduate, graduate and executive students who seek specialized training in the operations of international enterprises, international banks, and government agencies. Skills such as intercultural understanding and international business acumen are more valuable than ever, with more than 95 percent of the world’s consumers living outside of the United States.

International Business students at Drake have many opportunities to engage both inside and outside the classroom. In the classroom, you will be challenged and encouraged to develop a transnational mindset. Our curriculum  emphasizes the fundamentals of global business but also ensures that students leave Drake with a solid knowledge of world culture, history, and society that is crucial to commercial success today. Outside of the classroom, you will have many opportunities to study abroad, work with The Principal Financial Group Center for Global Citizenship, affect your local community, or engage in collaborative research with faculty and other students. For example, current students are working for global corporations in Iowa, studying in Spain, interning in Shanghai, building a health clinic in Uganda, and working on a variety of research projects that explore global markets.
