Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award

Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award is awarded upon Phi Theta Kappa Verification  and at the point of admission, prior to first time enrollment directly from a community college.

Members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible for a Drake University Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award of $29,000. 

This scholarship is renewable for undergraduate students enrolling in at least 12 credit hours per semester and making satisfactory academic progress. The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and the Presidential Transfer Award cannot be combined. 

Scholarship Details

Undergraduate transfer students with active membership in Phi Theta Kappa and a cumulative college GPA of 3.5 are eligible for a renewable Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award. To be considered, complete the Phi Theta Kappa Adviser Verification Form.

Students that have already earned a bachelor’s degree are not eligible. Recipients must be enrolled full-time (12+credits) in the fall and spring semesters (not available for summer term). Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Awards are tuition-specific (see Cost Specificity of Awards for more information). Renewal for a 2^nd year is contingent on a student maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

All scholarships require full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester) and satisfactory academic progress. Individual scholarships may have additional eligibility or application requirements. 

Undergraduate scholarships are available only to students enrolled at the undergraduate level, for up to 4 years total or until a Bachelor's degree is earned (whichever comes first). Students entering one of Drake's joint undergraduate/graduate degree paths should refer to Program-Specific Policies to understand which years are designated as undergraduate-level for billing and financial aid purposes. Scholarships will renew automatically if all renewal requirements are satisfied.
