Weaver Medal of Honor closeup on blue tableclothThe Weaver Medal of Honor is the most prestigious award bestowed by the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. It is awarded annually following the Weaver Medal of Honor Lecture at the CPHS Awards Ceremony to a recipient who has fulfilled one of the following criteria:

  1. The individual's efforts have advanced the education, research or outreach mission of the college for the benefit of human health.
  2. The individual has made a substantial impact on the profession of pharmacy.
  3. The individual has provided to the college significant financial support that has funded strategic change and progress.

The award is made possible through a generous gift of Lawrence C., PH'49, and Delores M. Weaver.

Meet the 2026 Weaver Medalist

James (Jim) De Muth, 2026 Weaver Medal of Honor awardee, received a B.S. in Pharmacy from Drake University in 1970. He eventually received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Wisconsin and spent his career as a faculty member there. Jim's extensive contributions to pharmacy education and scholarship have made a substantial impact on the profession and will continue to benefit generations of pharmacy students.
