Tracing the long tradition of equity and inclusion at Drake University, while ever aspiring to greater community leadership in the creation of a truly diverse and welcoming campus community.

By the Numbers

Stories matter and the numbers help us tell our story. The numbers below help us understand who we are and help us capture pinpoints in the life of our community. The numbers also give us direction – we are able to identify successes on which to build and opportunities for improvement.

Office of Equity and Inclusion

We are the focal point for diversity, equity and inclusive efforts on campus and in our community where you will find a wealth of resources, information, and ways for you to get involved.

Student Engagement, Equity, & Inclusion

A resource for social, recreational, multicultural, and leadership activities for students that are designed to enhance the academic mission of Drake University.

Multicultural Student Organizations

Multicultural student organizations are organized under the Unity Roundtable, a student-led governing body.

Drake Curriculum

The Drake curriculum seeks to provide a meaningful liberal arts education that prepares students for their lives after Drake. This is inseparable from a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and as such, they are integrated into our curriculum at multiple points

Areas of Inquiry

The Areas of Inquiry requirements are designed to provide students with a solid introduction to a variety of intellectual fields and a diversity of learning experiences.

Title IX

If you have experienced sexual or interpersonal misconduct, please know that there are people here who can support you and provide you with resources to help you make informed choices.

Nondiscrimination & Accessibility

Principles of equal access and equal opportunity require that all interactions within the university be free from individual discrimination. In addition, all faculty, staff, and administrators work to actively support students through reasonable accommodations for disabilities

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) (Divine 9)
Drake offers membership in these historically African-American fraternities and sororities through a joint charter with Iowa State University. Members host an array of activities at Drake every year, including a popular step show during the week of the Drake Relays, and are an integral part of the Drake Greek Life system.
