Student Housing

A great place to live while you learn

Drake housing and residence life is where creating uniquely-you room decor, building life-long friendships, and feeling connected to a community is just the beginning.

Residence Halls

Drake’s six university residence halls each have their own traditions and personality. They all offer nicely furnished rooms, air conditioning, wireless internet, common areas, and kitchens.

Your floor’s resident assistant (RA) will help you get settled and feel at home. Plenty of organized activities make it easy to connect with your fellow Bulldogs.

First-Year Student Housing

Most first-year students live in a spacious double room in Carpenter Hall, Crawford Hall, Herriott Hall, or Stalnaker Hall. You can request a roommate by name, or we’ll use your interests to pair you with someone.

Your First-Year Seminar class will also include at least one person from your residence hall to help create connections from your first day on campus.

Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Student Housing

Your choices for on-campus housing include a single, double, or triple room or a four-person suite in Goodwin-Kirk Hall or Jewett Hall.

After your first two years on campus, you can request to live off campus in Greek housing, the student-only apartment complex, Drake West Village, or other apartments or houses in the neighborhood.
