Professional Program Accreditation Information

The Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Doctor of Pharmacy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), 190 South LaSalle Street, Suite 300, Chicago, IL 60603-3466, 312/664-3575; FAX 866/228-2631, website www.acpe-accredit.org

Complaints regarding the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' compliance with accreditation standards may be directed to ACPE:

  1. The student who wishes to file a complaint with the pharmacy accrediting organization (ACPE) should do so at: https://www.acpe-accredit.org/complaints/. The College will then be contacted by ACPE for a response.
  2. In addition, the student may communicate this to the Drake CPHS via the ACPE Standards Information and Comment Form. This form will be directed to the Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, where it will be considered, recorded, and given a response.
  3. The file of student complaints will be made available for inspection to ACPE at on-site student evaluations, or otherwise at ACPE's written request. The findings of this inspection, and the resulting implications for the accreditation of the professional program, shall be noted in the Evaluation Team Report.

The entry-level Occupational Therapy doctoral program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E Bethesda, MD 20814. ACOTE's telephone number c/o AOTA is 301-652-6611 and its web address is www.acoteonline.org. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure. Students must complete Level II fieldwork and experiential requirements within 24 months following completion of the didactic portion of the program.

*The Iowa Board of Nursing has fully approved Drake University's Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program, qualifying graduates to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) required for practice as a registered nurse.

Effective May 14, 2025, this nursing program is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires on May 14, 2027. Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400 Atlanta, GA 30326 (404) 975-5000

https://www.acenursing.org/acen-programs-05202024/drake-university-b
