Drake’s Music Endorsement equips you to teach music at both the elementary (K–8) and secondary (5–12) levels, preparing you to lead ensemble and general music instruction while meeting requirements for State of Iowa licensure.
Through hands-on experiences—including classroom observation, recorded teaching, and a full semester of student teaching—you’ll build the skills and confidence to succeed in today’s classrooms. The endorsement can be completed alongside an education degree or added as an additional area of specialization, giving you flexible options to expand your teaching license.
Placement rates for graduates of the program have been nearly 100 percent for the last 10 years.
