STEM Endorsements
Drake offers a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) endorsement at the elementary and secondary level, as well as a professional strand. These endorsements build upon our existing high quality math and science education courses. These courses will provide students with additional tools to meet the expectations of the Next Generation Science Standards & the Mathematics Common Core.

Endorsement Specifications
- For teachers with an elementary classroom endorsement
- Requires 15 credit hours in science
- Requires 15 credit hours in math to include coursework in computer programming
- Requires 9 credit hours in STEM curriculum and methods:
- Completion of STEM field experience

The STEM Endorsement is available in combination with the following degree programs:
- Bachelor of Science in Education for Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Science in Education for Secondary Education
- Master of Arts in Teaching
- Master of Science in Teaching
- Endorsement Only program in STEM

- Applications are reviewed on an on-going basis; therefore, it is requested that all materials be submitted approximately 8 weeks prior to the beginning of the intended start-term.
- Upon the receipt of transcripts, an advisor will complete a transcript evaluation in order to determine any credit or course substitutions/transfers.
