The Omega Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was founded at Drake University on November 28, 1925. Earl B. Dickerson, the fifth grand polemarch of KAΨ (1924-1927), directed the efforts of the young men at Drake in their attempt to establish a chapter in the brotherhood of the noble clan. The first chapter polemarch was E.L. Dimmitry. Other chartered members were Merle Eppse (vice polemarch), James N. Williams (keeper of records), Donald Curley (keeper of exchequer), William Oney (strategus), LaVere Ewing, J. Nelson Thompson, and Joseph Moppin.
The chapter is known as both the "Death Chapter" and the "Great Outrageous Omega (G Double O)". Kappa Alpha Psi is the only fraternity in the National Pan-Hellenic Council with an active undergraduate Omega Chapter (most of the member organizations designate their Omega Chapters for their deceased members).

Our overall goal is uplifting our members, celebrating their achievements, and providing a safe space for them to express themselves and blossom to their full potential, whether it's in a leadership role or just going to events! We hope that through our philanthropy events, we can give back to the Greater Des Moines community directly and have a positive impact on campus in general. Thetas are involved in a lot of different fields, programs, organizations, and a lot of other opportunities, and we hope to continue to provide that as we work to grow as a chapter.

The Gamma Theta chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma is an organization thriving on tradition, leadership, academics, and friendship. Within our chapter, we have found a home filled with all of our members where we are encouraged to grow to achieve our highest potential. Alone, each Kappa brings unique qualities to our chapter, but together we make a difference on Drake's campus and in our community. Kappa Kappa Gamma at Drake supports three philanthropic organizations. These are the National Alliance on Mental Illness (Nami), Children's Cancer Connection, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.

PhiDE is the pre-medical fraternity on campus. We provide a comfortable space for pre-medical students to learn, ask questions, and connect with others on a similar journey. We provide opportunities to speak with professionals in the field, get mentorship, learn valuable skills for their career, network, and get direction for people who may not know the first thing about medical school and its application process. We also provide a social outlet for those with a rigorous schedule full of medical school prerequisites.

Founded at Howard University in 1920, our 5 Pearls joined together to form a system that reflected, at its core, the desire to provide true Service, embrace Scholarship, set a standard for Sisterly Love, and define the noble concept of Finer Womanhood. In 2020, the Rho Phi Chapter was chartered by 5 resilient women who came together reflecting the same core values to establish a Finer sisterhood on Drake University's campus.
